Privacy policy

Short version: if you just browse, we collect nothing about you.No tracking, no ads, no account needed. The only time we collect anything personal is when you choose to sign in to become a supporter — and even then it's just your name and email, used only to keep you posted.
If you don't sign in
Nothing is collected about you. Browsing is anonymous. There's no analytics or advertising, no tracking cookies, and we don't ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or device identifiers. You can read every part of the app without an account.
Signing in (optional)
Signing in is entirely your choice and isn't required for anything you can read. If you do sign in — with Google or Apple — we receive your name and email address. Sign-in is handled for us by a third-party authentication provider (Clerk), which keeps it secure.
We use that information for two things only:
- to recognize you as a supporter of the project, and
- to send you occasional notifications about app updates and any new products we launch.
That's the whole of it. We don't use it to track you and we don't build advertising profiles. You can turn off notifications or delete your account at any time — from your account menu, or by emailing us.
ZIP code lookup
If you use “find my reps,” the ZIP code you type is sent to our server only to look up the matching congressional district, then used to show you those members. It is not stored by us and is not linked to you. (As with any website, our host may keep short-lived, routine request logs; we do not use them to identify anyone.)
The information shown in the app
Everything displayed is public, official-record data about members of Congress — vote records (U.S. House Clerk and Senate), campaign-finance filings (FEC), the public congressional directory (congress-legislators), and public biography (Wikipedia and Wikidata). It is information about elected officials and their public duties, not about the people who use the app. wheresmyguy? carries no flight data, home addresses, or real-time location, and never forecasts where a person will be.
Sharing & selling
We never sell your information and we don't share it for advertising. The only outside services involved are the provider that handles sign-in and the service that delivers notifications — used solely to provide those features, nothing else.
Children
Anyone can read the app without an account, and browsing collects no data. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children; the optional supporter sign-in is intended for adults.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date.
